Texas is the home of Stars of the Lid, and the long drwn out drawl of their brand of drone ambience suits how I imagine the city. SOTL are made up of guitarists Brian McBride and Adam Wiltzie. Adam is also a member of Windsor for the Derby, another band worth finding out more about.
Sound and colour are themes they write about in the liner notes of the CD Per Aspera ad Astra. The CD was designed to compliment the painting of Jon McCafferty, and indeed his painting can be heard as background in the CD.
